SP Balasubrahmanyam, a renowned singer, who has sang more than 40,000 songs in his career of 50 years, has died at the age of 74. He had a Guinness world record holder for the number of songs he sang.

He sang in 16 Indian language from romantic songs to popular dance tracks, some of his songs are India’s best song tracks and listened by all group.

SP Balasubrahmanyam was diagnosed with Covid-19 and was going through intensive medical care, he was admitted to a hospital in the southern city of Chennai in August and when he got Covid-19 positive but later he was tested Covid-19 negative and since than he was on life support treatment. The hospital released a statement and said that he died because of cardio-respiratory arrest.

SP Balasubrahmanyam started his career in Telugu and Tamil film industry and later made his mark in Bollywood. He was the first singer from the South Indian film industry who cross the language barrier and came to the Hindi film industry.

Once the news came out, social media flooded with condolence messages. People shared their memories with him and his favourite songs, which will always keep him alive in his fan’s heart.

SPB born in 1946 and despite his traditional upbringing in a middle-class family from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, he touches the high and broke the social norm.
