Indian telecom service provider Vodafone Idea has announced its new integrated brand identity – Vi (read as ‘We’). The new branding is a combination of both Vodafone and Idea. Now it’s easy for reference as it’s shorter and simpler. The announcement was made in a virtual conference which was live-streamed.
The two company has merged together a couple of years back in August 2018. The company has revealed the new brand which is the final stage of integration and said, the design is for the new digital era. Vodafone and idea’s new branding has been updated on their website and apps now and very soon it will be on other products like SIM card and Bills.
MD and CEO at Vodafone Idea Limited, Ravinder Takkar said that we came together as one entity two years back and since then we have focussed on integrating the two of the large network, people and our processes. Today I am delighted to announce Vi, the brand which will bring important meaning to the lives of our users. People are optimistic and want to get ahead in their life and they would love a credible partner like Vi that will help them in this journey.
Ravinder Takkar also added that we are not only marking the completion of the largest telecom merger in the world but also kicks off a journey to bring the “world-class digital experience” to the one billion Indians on the 4G telecom network.
The Vi has also announced a program called ‘Happy Surprises’, which will reward people with daily prizes for spotting the new brand logo in the Vi app. In addition to that, mobile customers can also create and download their own customized Vi Tune in the Vi app or MyVi.in.
The company also twitted and informed the change made by them, and wrote “#ViIsHere. Vodafone and Idea, two of India’s favourite brands now go by a new name. Explore the world of Vi https://myvi.in/business #TogetherForTomorrow”
